Megan Hahn

Role aboard

Megan flew down from Nome so that she could sail all the way back again. A headbang in anybody’s book and the Grand Old Duke of York would have been proud of her. Sadly, we cancelled the big gig because the North Pacific looks a bit nasty this year so she’s having fun cruising some of the nicer bits of New South Wales.

Personal story

Megan was born and raised in Nome, Alaska. She graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelors degree in Music and minors in German and Biology. She met Alex, Corrie and Kimbra when they sailed into Nome in 2008.

She has bicycled across Alaska, the continental United States and both New Zealand islands. She spends most of her time outdoors in all seasons and runs the occasional marathon. During Alaskan winters she snow machines, snowshoes, fishes for king crab on the Bering Sea ice and mushes with her dog, Roy. In the summers she works as a builder and fishes from subsistence vessels in Katchemak Bay in southern Alaska. She lives seasonally between Nome and Homer, Alaska.

She holds an international amateur Ham radio license, callsign KL3QM.
