I have been given the solemn duty of uploading some departure pictures and explanations. As this will be my sole moment of fame on the voyage, I had wanted to get it right. Not having fraternal directives on how many pictures or text I can upload at once, how big they can be, or if there is a daily limit on uploads, I started to do it in batches of small files. The first thing that happened was that my accompanying text disappeared in the first upload. I assume this is because Alex has already written a post today. There will be many more departure images from us and maybe the best thing is for us to put them on an online album somewhere with a link. Paul and Pauline who were out with Gordy in the Madeline May and accompanied Berri for a short distance out to sea. I will upload their images when they arrive. We are also promised some video from them and I shall post a link as soon as it arrives. These images find me as near to the sea as I usually get. My interests at this stage of a Berri voyage are simply those of the puzzled onlooker who cannot imagine why sensible grown adults think this sort of thing is fun. I am thus interested in the domestic detail as I don't understand bits of string and sails. That's what this first sequence is all about. I want to know where they keep the saffron, how the hot water and shower systems work, and how they hang the fragrant pink loo flush thingy. All seemed present and correct this morning, with kitchen surfaces wiped with anti bacterial wash, an extensive library, hospital corners on the beds and Ship's Mascot hygienically cleaned and hung up to dry. I think they'll be ok. With all you many other followers out there I wish them every success as Berri sets off again.Isabella – Alex's sister

Thanks Is for your insight, most welcomed, as I share a slight fear, possibly abhorance, of sailing. But, I am always interested to hear and see of Alex and Pete's voyages, along with obscure (to me) nautico-speak. Hope all is well in Devon. Will follow in Google Earth. Best of luck Alex and Pete, keep your powder dry and your libations wet. Ann
