Kimbra Bridges (Lindus)

Role aboard & Voyages

Kimbra saw us off in Sydney, went back to work in Western Australia and joined us in Dutch Harbour for the NW Passage transit to Falmouth.

Personal story

Kimbra was born and grew up in Hobart. She studied engineering at the University of Tasmania and now works for an engineering company in Western Australia where she keeps busy managing the design of remote accommodation camps and other infrastructure in the bush for mining companies. In her spare time she competes in triathlons and has some respectable times to her credit.

She is a highly experienced offshore sailor, a Clipper Round the World Race circumnavigator and watch leader in the winning boat. She sailed the 2006 and 2007 Sydney – Hobarts in Berrimilla and in 2008, she came over to Sydney to make sure we got away with no shirking. Then she became Berrimilla’s main shore contact for weather and other essential information until she joined the boat in Dutch Harbour for the Northwest Passage transit and the Atlantic crossing to England.
